Eid, Mehndi and Bangles, what connects them to Muslim women? Eid is the Muslim festival after Ramadan. Eid breaks Muslim fasting. This is a festivity that Muslims look forward to. You can compare Eid with Christmas or New Year in importance. During Eid men, women and children get dressed for the occasion; this is where mehndi and bangles connect with Eid. It is not Eid, if women are not wearing the beautifying mehndi tattoo and bangles.

Eid is celebrated after Ramadan. Eid is the day that breaks the fast. It is the first day of the month of Sawwal, the Eid day.

Celebration for Eid includes festive food, festive dresses, gift giving and giving money to the poor. Celebration also includes going to the mosque and reciting Takbeer. Men wear perfume and their best new or cleaned clothes.

Visiting relatives and friends are also part of the celebration. Thus, women love to be beautiful during Eid. Muslim women prepare for Eid many days before Eid Moon or the sighting of the new moon.

Women buy or make their Eid Dresses more than a month before Eid. They also contact mehndi designers to ensure that they have beautiful mehndi designs during this time.

Bangles are likewise important to compliment the Eid dress and mehndi designs in their hands and feet.

Forehead and shins are likewise places where mehndi designs can be formed. Flowery designs and fine lines are mehndi designs that are popular for Eid and wedding celebrations
